Course on

PERSPECTIVES ON MALARIA RESEARCH

FROM THE LABORATORY TO THE FIELD

BioMalPar network of excellence supported by European Commission and Karolinska Institutet, Sweden in collaboration with Makerere University, Uganda, are organizing a 3 weeks course designed for students/researchers interested in infectious diseases in the tropics, especially to malaria.

Combining insights from literature, field experience and a variety of leading scientific experts, the course focuses on increasing the understanding of the biology of malaria, the context of its development and its epidemiological traits.

The course includes two weeks of lectures and field visits and one week of experimental work on proteomics and cutting edge molecular techniques. It is intended for scientists and students who wish to expand or update their understanding of the research field.

The course will be held in May 2007 at Makerere University, Uganda.
