Christian Doerig Profile |
 |
Research Focus: |
The research programme of INSERM U609 is aimed at identifying and characterising P. falciparum genes involved in the control of cell proliferation and gametocytogenesis, concentrating on protein kinases. The laboratory has brought important contributions to the field of signal transduction, cell cycle control, and kinome characterisation in malaria parasites, and has extensive expertise in the biochemistry and reverse genetics of protein kinases. Active collaborations have been established with pharmacology and structural biology laboratories (both in academia and in the private sector) with the purpose of developing drug discovery activities based on plasmodial protein kinase inhibition.
