The laboratory of Christos Louis (EMBO member) has been engaged in studies on the molecular biology of Anopheles and mosquito-parasite interactions for more than a decade. Moreover, C. Louis (a member of the International Anopheles genome Executive Committee) and his group have participated in the genome sequencing project of the malaria mosquito and are actively involved in postgenomic research. In addition to these activities, the group has a strong background in bioinformatics (developers of AnoBase). C. Louis has cooperated closely with many partners in clusters 1 and 4.
